When walking through a pet store recently I spotted a packet of Spotnips springs. They looked interesting and on close inspection didn’t seem to be a hazard, so I got a pack for Train.

I wasn’t sure what she’d think of them, so I put one on the floor to begin with and pushed it with my toe to make it roll towards her. The rolling spring immediately grabbed her attention. I was a little worried that she’d hurt herself on one end of the springs (they are only plastic, with no sharp edges, but I still worried!) but she didn’t care less and chased it around the kitchen. She couldn’t pick up the spring easily on her own mouth, but that only made her more determined to play with it until it disappeared.
By disappeared I mean ‘she batted it under the couch and then gave up trying to retrieve it through the power of her stare’. Thankfully there were 9 more in the pack, and they’ve been given out sparingly… and the ‘missing’ springs will be retrieved next time I vacuum.
I can’t find anywhere online that sells them, so check with your local pet store for availability.

Ohh they look cool. My lot all LOVE curled up pipe cleaners, but they end up an bit manky and sometimes break with sharp edges.
Will have to keep an eye out for them.

I love Spotnips products. I just wish they weren’t so hard to find! I have been searching for the Atomic bouncing ball! I figure if Fui and Suey love their ping pong balls so much, the Atomic ball should send them off their nut. The springs look like lots of fun!:)
