Today Mr. J and I went along to the Pet Fair at the University of Sydney. It was an event filled with children and dogs on leashes, but we enjoyed ourselves – even if I was too old to go on the giant tiger jumping castle!

Below are some photos from the day (this is going to be an image heavy post!).
First we ended up in the Cat Show, during the judging stage.

I must say, I do find cat shows a little sad. While some kitties love the attention and are totally suited for it, other’s are just so terrified they cower under their bedding.
Next we walked through the Veterinary hospital – and were surprised at how large it was. Not to mention the amount of facilities they have.

One thing I liked is that they keep cats and dogs separated – including the waiting rooms. I’m assuming other small animals like rabbits, etc get to use the kitty entrance, too.

All in all it was a good day. I was most impressed to see one brave kitty on a leash, comfortably mingling with all the other dogs! Of course some dogs got a little too excited, but she didn’t seem too worried.

It looks like it was a good event, I wish I could have made it. I too find cat shows a bit of a double edges sword. I’ve only been to one, where it was cool seeing some interesting breeds, but I felt evil seeing the kitties who clearly didn’t want to be there. I do think it’s funny though when you see kitties who are supposed to be worth a lot of money curled up in their litter boxes.
I also wanted to ask you, have Julius, Oscar and their third friend been adopted? I was looking on the CPS website the other day, and didn’t see them.

Julius, Oscar and Poncho have all found homes, which is fantastic! Now the ‘longest stays’ at the Cat Protection Society are Jace and Cara, who are currently in foster care.
That is wonderful news!!! Hopefully Jace and Cara will be next :)
