When we first got Train, we set her up with a massive cardboard box (for her ‘then’ size) and put a couple of blankets in it to make it less deep and scary.

As Train has grown, she’s stayed with the box, and we’ve had to removed blankets to accommodate her size. Recently it was upgraded from it’s place at the end of our bed, to her new favourite spot on top of the cat run.
The box has had some big splits in the sides for a little while, and yesterday they finally gave way during a big morning kitty stretch. I figured Train would give up on the box now that it couldn’t provide four walled security and comfort, but apparently she’s enjoying the opportunity to stretch out…

So, I guess that means I don’t have to spend money on a new bed as soon as I thought!

It always seems like cats tend to adore the improvised (and free) goodies around them, and eventually get bored with all the fancy toys and beds we humans think so highly of :)
Very cute, thanks for sharing!
