What could be better than some fresh catnip poured on the floor? Perhaps a giant ball of catnip that you can bat around and eat? Well, someone has already thought of that.
Like most cat lovers, Brett Buchanan provided his three cats with plenty of catnip toys, but noticed that as his kitties aged, their interest waned. As he reasoned, “Would you like to smell your favorite food but never be able to eat it?”. Next, he provided dry catnip in a bowl for his cats to snack on. As cats will do, they’d dive into the bowl and soon all the catnip would be scattered over the surrounding carpet, and out would come the vacuum, while the cats were still unsatisfied.
Pawbreakers were the result of countless hours of experimenting and testing on enthusiastic cats, until exactly the right shape and size was attained.
If you have slightly raised furniture (like us) they recommend to put the Pawbreaker into an empty bathtub with your kitty, so it can’t get lost easily. I guess that doesn’t help for those of us who have raised furniture and no bath!
It’s a fantastic idea – I have no doubt Train would go mental over it – my only concern would be how quickly she would lose it and how often we’d spend fishing a kitty drool covered catnip ball out from under the couch/bed/table/everything.
These are AU $6.95 each from Pookinuk and they have an expected lifetime of 2 – 4 weeks, depending on how much love your kitty gives it.

This toy is a super idea but gets lost ridiculously fast. Mommy got annoyed after it ended underneath just about everything and she had to keep digging it out on her hands and knees. She won’t let us play with it anymore.
