Handmade love: PretaPawte Cat Collars

by savvycat on April 4, 2009

Cat collars are generally stock standard items. They tend to have the same look and feel, and a limited range of colours. When we picked Train’s collar, we actually picked from the puppy section as they had nicer colours, an easily undone buckle (not the usual shoe-type buckle) and a more durable material. We later got a small liberty bell from a local art supply store and attached it to the collar with a cable tie. We made sure that the bell was small enough so that she couldn’t get it in her mouth while it was around her neck, and that the cable tie ends were cut short and sharp edges filed down.
Her collar is a sunny yellow in colour, which suits her tortoiseshell cream/brown/red/black quite nicely.

Had I known about PretaPawte at the time, I would have just ordered one of their collars. They have breakaway buckles, awesome fabric designs, and a little bell attached to all.
